The Purpose of Gene Annotation
Currently, gene sequencing is becoming more efficient and cheaper to use. Because of so, several species are having their DNA sequenced at a rapid pace; however, Sequencing DNA doesn't lead to helpful information unless supplied with gene annotation. Gene annotation is the process of taking sequenced DNA and finding where genes and its isoforms are located. This data is then analyzed to see the why and where similar species were first separated.
